Borderline Satanic Soul Punk Patrick Stump t-shirt . ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – The Anchorage Museum on Tuesday held a class on making yarn out of t-shirts. Organizers say the purpose of the class was to learn how to recycle materials during Earth Month.Erin Marbarger, the museum’s senior education director, said aspiring creators were taught the most efficient methods of making yarn.“We just want to think about our impact on the planet and how we can limit the amount of materials we use,” Marbarger said. “And how we can think creatively about using things in different ways.”Participants learned how to reuse old, used t-shirts to give them new life and make new items like bags, clothing, and stuffed animals. Many — but not all — the objects that could be chosen to make with the yarn were crochet patterns.
