I would come home wondering what I did wrong to offend them that day, day after day. It took up way too much of my brain space. I can’t see any chance to grow in a discouraging organization. I have also noticed that incivility is mostly practised by those who are not talented, knowledgeable or smart and they know that this is the only way they can manage to look leader-like. Afterall they got there by sucking up to their gullible and uncivil bosses. They clearly slack off in other areas so they are left with none but one choice to keep their position intact. Incivility means power to them.

I do definitely agree that cultural differences and neurodivergency can  be seen as uncivil if the person interpreting them is uneducated; however, there are certain actions like constantly interrupting someone or ignoring an employee when they need help or screaming that are not okay, ever Kisses Love Gnomies MA Life Shirt . I was in a car accident traveling to work and when I emailed them to let them know I was going to the hospital, I didn’t hear back from them until I went in again two weeks later. First thing I hear when I finally walked back in was “I was worried I’d have to close your file.”Similarly, when I was given bad advice from my supervisor and I followed  through with it, I ended up hitting my head. I told her and she told me to figure it out. Those aren’t examples of cultural differences or neurodiverse behaviors. They’re just…well…narcissistic is one word.
