However, our need to be liked and part of the pack often make us have some views and opinions that we may not agree with but take at face value, like gay people for instance. I was raised to believe they were going to hell and abortion is murder. While my views have changed and I now believe people should have the right to choose for themselves, it was hard to break from the pack of my hometown.The way we were raised it is definitely related with our present persona and the way we see and deal with the world. Hence, the core of our thoughts and mental structures its associated to our present and past context. There will always be exceptions but our need to be liked and part of the village will often shape how we think and live.
